The Lacemaker

The Lacemaker
Painted c. 1925

Like Smiling Girl, this picture was sold to Joseph Duveen, who sold it on to Andrew Mellon, who donated it to the Washington National Gallery of Art.

Jonathan Lopez thinks this picture is very much of its time and that the girl looks like a 1920s flapper.
